My name is Qing Zhang, and I go by Cyan (used to be Monica). I’m an animator and designer from Beijing, China. I graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a BFA degree focusing on visual communication design and USC with an MFA degree focusing on design and illustration. Currently, I am developing my animation skills at SCAD.
I design, illustrate, and create by observing the underlying patterns around me and my surroundings. I view my own life, which is greatly influenced by my cross-cultural experiences, as a place to mine for inspiration and information. Through my work, I try to express my personal stories as well as my perspectives of viewing this world.
